STAFF ACCOUNTANT (Part-time)- 30 hours a week Areas of responsibility include the following: • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Processing • Utilization of Quickbooks Accounting Software • Daily Deposits – Preparation, Coding and Data Entry • Responsible to post all entries on Case Costs Ledger • Prepare all settlement statements for Settled Cases • Help with documentation of all company write-offs/lost/closed cases • Help document and maintain Credit Card Excel Spreadsheet and post expenses In Quickbooks for P&L purposes • Managing the General Ledger Flow • Manage Month/Year End Close – Tax Purposes • W-9 required for End of Year 1099s • Scanning of All Payables & Monthly JEs • Assist with HR forms & functions/Personnel Files • Attendance for all employees as needed • Preparation or review of All Account Reconciliations. (Bank Accounts, CC, Invoices to Statements) • Maintains Accounting controls by ensuring Accounting Policies with legal staff • Procedures are followed and financial statements produced timely each month • This position may lead to a Senior Accountant and eventually to an Accounting Manager Position. Qualifications and Performance include the following: • General Ledger reconciliation experience • Month/Year End Close experience • Preparation of monthly journal entries • Advanced MS Excel skills • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills • Speak and write English Fluently • Bachelor's Degree • Requires 3-5 years of experience of related accounting experience • HR Forms and their purpose for employee and employer • Payroll Processing/Tax Calculations/Employer & Employee Responsibility • Eventually grow to understand all P&L Statements, Balance Sheet and Personal Balance Sheet Future Goals: • Ready for future responsibilities to back-up CFO • Continue to see the big picture of running the Law Firm • Find more efficiencies to make the Accounting Department better
